So it’s that time of year again and I’ve got my first signs of a cold since moving to Texas. One of the things that I crave when I’m under the weather (and it’s still in the 90’s outside!) is a power-packed feel-good, all-in-one cooling concoction. I went to Whole Foods to stock up on all things immunity-boosting to get me through the next couple of days. Here is a smoothie recipe to lift your energy, immunity and, most importantly, your spirits.

Acai is a superfood also known as “nature’s perfect energy fruit” and also contains Vitamins C, E, B1, B2, B3, among others. It is called a superfood because you could get almost all your day’s nutritional needs from this one fruit. I added a big ‘ole scoop of Camu powder, which comes from camu-camu, a Rainforest super fruit that has more Vitamin C than any other known botanical.
Cherry-Acai Immunity Smoothie
Place all ingredients in a blender or Vitamix and blend until smooth.
