Maca Oatmeal with Maple-Pecans + Pomogranates

One of my breakfast staples: The Oatmeal Bowl. You can flavor your morning in so many beneficial ways, sweet or savory. Try adding Superfoods like cacao or goji berries, or greens with nutritional yeast, or simply fresh fruit and nuts. Lately I’ve been on a Maca kick. I’ve talked about Maca before, but here are a few facts…

Maca: a root vegetable rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids that Peruvians have used for generations to enhance energy and stamina. It’s great for balancing hormones and even acts as a natural aphrodisiac by increasing libido health. An all-around powerhouse in my book! And simple to add to many recipes with it’s butterscotch-like flavor. Try Maca in this recipe and you’re guaranteed to start your day off right!

  1. Great recipe. I will definitely give this a try. I do hope you will spell the word aphrodisiac correctly if you include that detail in your book;)
