Maca-Cacao Truffles

This recipe is a staple in my house. I try to have  Maca-Cacao Truffles around, or ‘maca balls’ as my husband likes to call them. They’re easy to throw together and are great for ‘on-the-go’ snacking. Maca is a powerful superfood that is known to boost stamina, fight fatigue, and give your libido a natural boost that goes back over 500 years.  Mixed with cacao, which has more antioxidant flavonoids than any food tested so far, you’ve got yourself one super powerful little treat! Maca-Cacao Truffles

{Yield: 8-10}

3 large dates, pitted

3 Tbsp Cacao powder

2 Tbsp Maca powder

1 Tbsp palm sugar, plus more for dusting

2 Tbsp coconut oil, melted and cooled to room temperature

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 small Tbsp nut butter (cashew works well here)

pinch Celtic sea salt

Place all ingredients in a food processor or Vitamix and blend until well combined and a dough-like texture has formed. Scoop small teaspoons into your hands and roll into individual balls. Place in the refrigerator to set. Allow to soften to room temperature before serving. Roll finished truffles into palm sugar, maca or cacao powder.

    1. You can definitely use that mixture! Use 5 Tbsp of the maca-cacao mix to replace the 3 Tbsp cacao + 2 Tbsp maca.
